Is the Multiverse Theory possible? Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse New Trailer is out!

The long-awaited sequel of Into the Spiderverse, Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse New Trailer is out, giving us an incredible lineup of new web-slinging heroes on the big screen. From Spider-Punk to Scarlet Spider and Spider-Man 2099, some fans (including me) are hoping to also have a glimpse of spider-cat in the movie. The trailer teases a host of epic characters, and fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Miles Morales and a sneak peek of the hundreds of new spider variants.

The first movie introduced us to Miles Morales, who gains spider-like abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider. When a portal opens through a super collider, Miles discovers that there are multiple dimensions and versions of Spider-Man across the multiverse.

What is the science behind the multiverse theory?

But how does the multiverse theory actually work? Scientists generally divide the multiverse theory into two categories: the inflation theory and the many-worlds theory. The inflation theory proposes that the universe expanded rapidly after the Big Bang, which caused disconnected regions to evolve into separate universes, each with its own physical laws and properties. This means that there could be parallel universes where anything is possible, from planets made entirely of diamonds to a world where cats rule the planet.

The many-worlds theory, on the other hand, takes a different approach. This hypothesis suggests that every time a quantum event occurs, the universe splits into multiple parallel universes, each corresponding to a different outcome of that event. To understand this theory better, let’s consider the example of flipping a coin. In our reality, the coin will either land heads up or tails up. However, according to the many-worlds theory, both outcomes occur in different parallel universes. This means that there are countless parallel universes, each containing different versions of reality based on the various possible outcomes of quantum events. Even subatomic particles may have different outcomes, just like flipping a coin, resulting in different fates for the same particles.

While the multiverse theory remains unproven and still a topic of debate among scientists, the idea of multiple versions of reality existing in different parallel universes has captured the imagination of many. The Spider-Verse franchise offers a thrilling exploration of the multiverse concept, bringing together some of the most exciting characters from across the Spider-Man universe. Get ready for a wild ride as Miles and his friends traverse the multiverse in Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse!
